Organisers have revealed that the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2024/25 season will kick off on Saturday, August 31, 2024.
NPFL chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye announced the date on the body’s X account.
“I am glad that the NPFL 2024/25 season will commence on Saturday, 31st August, 2024,” Elegbeleye said.
“The draw event for the league fixtures involving the 20 participating teams will be made soon,” he added.
The 2023/24 season ended last weekend with Enugu Rangers claiming the coveted title and N150m prize money.
The Flying Antelopes claimed the NPFL title for the eighth time with Remo Stars and Enyimba finishing in second and third positions respectively.
The 2023/24 NPFL season which ended last weekend produced Rangers International of Enugu as champions with 70points.
Remo Stars came 2nd with 65 points, while former champions, Enyimba International FC settled for the 3rd position with 63 points.
Rangers and Remo Stars will play in the CAF Champions League next season, while Enyimba will represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Another club will also emerge to complete Nigeria’s slot for Confederation Cup.
