The African Development Bank (AfDB) has unveiled its flagship Young Professionals Program (YPP), a premier initiative designed to attract, develop, and retain exceptional young talent passionate about driving Africa’s development agenda.
According to the Bank, the program seeks to build a pipeline of future experts who will contribute meaningfully to its mission. The Bank says the program targets exceptional, high-potential young professionals from AfDB member countries who are ready to make a lasting impact on the continent’s growth trajectory.
“The Young Professionals Program (YPP) is a flagship talent acquisition, development and management initiative aimed at building a pipeline of future experts for the Bank. The program targets exceptional, high-potential young professionals who are passionate about Africa’s development and are ready to contribute meaningfully to the Bank’s mission,” the Bank said in a statement on its official X handle at the weekend
Designed as a three-year leadership development journey, the YPP offers participants hands-on experience through departmental rotations, exposure to strategic operations, and involvement in policy advisory work, all geared toward shaping them into development leaders.
The AfDB reaffirmed its commitment to diversity and inclusion, encouraging qualified citizens from all backgrounds across its member countries to apply.
