MWC25 Kigali, Africa’s largest and most influential connectivity event, is set to return from October 21 to 23 in Rwanda’s capital with a renewed focus on digital innovation, investment, and cross-border policy collaboration.
Organised by the GSMA in partnership with Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT & Innovation, this year’s edition will introduce a major new feature, the GSMA Ministerial Programme.
Adapted from its flagship event in Barcelona, the programme will convene policymakers, industry leaders, and tech innovators to shape Africa’s digital transformation agenda.
According to the organizers in a media release issued in London on Wednesday, high-profile speakers confirmed are Airtel CEO Sunil Taldar, AXIAN Telecom CEO Hassan Jaber, Ethiotel CEO Frehiwot Tamiru, MTN CEO Ralph Mupita, Orange’s EVP and CEO for Middle East and Africa Yasser Shaker, and Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation, Hon. Mrs. Paula Ingabire. Additional speaker announcements are expected in the lead-up to the event.
A vibrant show floor will feature leading sponsors and exhibitors such as AXIAN Telecom, Ethiotel, Huawei, Meta, MTN, Orange, TerraPay, Telcoin, and ZTE, offering attendees a glimpse into the latest advancements and collaborative opportunities in the tech ecosystem.
With Heritage Times HT as media partners, MWC25 Kigali will also host the Mobile for Development (M4D) Theatre, a space dedicated to addressing key issues including artificial intelligence, mobile money, agriculture, humanitarian innovation, climate change, and digital inclusion.
The event’s thought leadership programme will centre on four core themes: Connected Continent, The AI Future, Fintech, and Africa’s Digital Frontier. Additionally, a series of summits will provide deep dives into pressing topics such as 5G, FinTech, and, for the first time, cybersecurity at the new Security Summit.
