The Nigerian women’s cricket team has dropped three places in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I rankings.
According to ICC rankings, the team moved from 26th to 29th position.
The latest development places Nigeria as the sixth-ranked team in Africa, behind South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Namibia, and Tanzania.
The decline is largely due to the team’s recent inactivity, including the cancellation of the annual National Women’s Invitational tournament.
However, the team will have an opportunity to regain lost ground and earn valuable ICC points later this month when they compete in the Kwibuka Memorial Tournament in Rwanda.
For men, there has been no change in rankings.
The Nigeria’s men team remain in the 36th position globally, seventh in Africa.
