Egyptian club Zamalek on Wednesday sacked former Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro.
The club, also known as the White Knights, disclosed this in a statement.
“Zamalek and Jose Peseiro agree to end the relationship by mutual consent. We wish the best in future,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
The contract termination followed the club’s 2-2 draw against National Bank.
Peseiro signed a two-year contract with Zamalek a few months after his deal with the Super Eagles ended in March 2024, shortly after guiding Nigeria to the final of the 2023 AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire.
In 17 matches with Zamalek, the Portuguese coach lost twice and drew eight games.
The team also failed to successfully defend their CAF Confederation Cup title.
