Nigeria on Thursday retained their position in the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking.
The African football powerhouse, popularly known as the Super Falcons, held on to their 36th position globally.
The nine-time African champions have maintained this position since March 2024.
On the other hand, South Africa dropped one point to now occupy 54th place in the world.
Meanwhile, Morocco, ranked third in Africa, moved up one place to 60th.
Zambia fell two places to 64th, while Ghana climbed to 65th, completing the top five on the continent.
Rounding up the top 10 in Africa are Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Senegal, and Algeria, in that order.
Tunisia experienced the biggest decline in the latest ranking, dropping 11 places to 89th in the world, placing them 11th in Africa.
Equatorial Guinea (90th) and Egypt (100th) both dropped eight places, while Kenya (142nd, up seven) recorded the biggest rise.
Among the world’s highest-ranked teams, the top 10 are the United States of America, Spain, Germany, England, Japan, Sweden, Canada, Brazil, Korea DPR, and the Netherlands.
