All is now set for the conduct of draws for the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup finals.
According to the organisers, the draw ceremony will take place in Rabat, Morocco’s administrative capital, on Wednesday, June 2025.
For the very first time, 24 countries will take part in the tournament, which is the ninth edition since the competition was launched in New Zealand 17 years ago.
Pot Seedings
In Pot 1, there are hosts Morocco (one of Africa’s five flag-bearers), Spain, Japan, North Korea (cup holders), USA and Nigeria (which is making its eighth appearance in the competition).
In Pot 2 are Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Canada, New Zealand, and Ecuador.
Pot 3 has China, Cameroon, South Korea, Italy, France, and Zambia.
Then Pot 4 parades Paraguay, Costa Rica, Netherlands, Norway, Côte d’Ivoire, and Samoa.
Africa Representatives
In all, Africa has four countries awaiting opponents for the biennial global competition.
Nigeria got to the quarter-finals of the last edition in 2023.
