Chairman House Committee on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is set to change the narrative of the NDDC, the Association of NDDC Contractors have said.
A statement jointly signed by its President, Sylvester Iyade Tonye and Secretary, John Ibigbame read:
“The Executives and members of the NDDC Contractors Association wishes to immensely thank the Chairman, House Committee on NDDC, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo for the selfless and highly commendable way he has handled the plight of the NDDC Contractors who have suffered untold hardship in the hands of the management of the Commission.
“Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has by his actions shown that Nigeria still has leaders with conscience and the interest of their people at heart. His stand and disposition over the petition brought by the NDDC Contractors Association, have carefully changed the narrative and bolstered our confidence in the National Assembly to handle matters of national significance with utmost seriousness, professionalism and good conscience not minding whose ox is goared.
“With his selfless actions, the Chairman of the House Committee on NDDC has lifted up the already dying spirits of NDDC Contractors cutting across the nine Niger Delta States and has given them hope after many years of hopelessness. By giving the Contractors Association the desired audience and listening to their yearnings, the Honourable Chairman has stamped his foot in the sand of time and inputted an indelible mark in the hearts of NDDC Contractors.
“The NDDC Contractors Association therefore wish to express their gratitude to Mr. Chairman and other members of the Committee who have taken their time to go through the petition and stick to the glarimg facts.
“It is our earnest prayer that the good lord will continue to bless and protect Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, grant he and members of the Committee the desired wisdom and knowledge in their quest to unravel the injustice meted to the NDDC Contractors Association by the management of the Commission.
“We would also like to emphasise that Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is a square peg in a round hole and remains one of the most outstanding and outspoken members of the House of Representatives with a penchant for equity, truth and justice.
WWe are confident that with his impeccable antecedents and strong character, our teaming members would get the succour they seek. We implore the Honourable Chairman to keep the good work going as he strives to deliver meaningful representation to his constituents and Nigerians at large despite the antics of naysayers.”
