Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has died, aged 71.
Hogan passed on after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater.
Before he was certified dead, Hogan was transported to a nearby hospital by emergency responders, TMZ Sports reports.
His death comes just weeks after his wife, Sky Hogan, dispelled rumours that he was in a coma, assuring fans that he was in stable condition and recovering well.
Life Of A Wrestling Hero
Born Terry Bollea, Hogan became one of the most recognisable figures in professional wrestling history.
He rose to prominence in the 1980s as the face of WWE, captivating fans with his trademark charisma, larger-than-life personality, and signature phrases like “Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?”
In 1996, Hogan made a dramatic shift in his career by turning heel and leading the New World Order (NWO) under the moniker “Hollywood Hogan,” a move that redefined his image and revolutionised wrestling storytelling.
He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and again in 2020 as a member of the NWO. However, his career also saw controversy, including his temporary removal from the Hall of Fame in 2015 after a leaked tape surfaced containing racist remarks.
He later won a major lawsuit against Gawker, the outlet that published the recording.
Beyond The Mart
Outside the ring, Hogan appeared in several films, including Rocky III, No Holds Barred, and Suburban Commando. He also starred in the reality TV series Hogan Knows Best, which offered a glimpse into his family life.
Hulk Hogan leaves behind a legacy that transcends professional wrestling. As a global icon, he helped elevate the sport to new heights and inspired generations of fans and athletes.
