Armed terrorists stormed the Bege Baptist Church in Madalla, located in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday, abducting at least 40 worshippers during the service.
Rev. John Hayab, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State Chapter, confirmed the attack to journalists, stating that the incident happened around 9:30 am.
According to Hayab, the abductees were still in captivity, with no communication from their kidnappers.
While 15 of the kidnapped persons managed to escape, the remaining 25 are still in the hands of their captors.
The state government and police command have yet to provide official confirmation on the incident.
However, the cleric said efforts are being made to secure the release of the abducted individuals.
