The Labour Party (LP) Chairman in the Karshi district of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja Valentine Onuigbo has been reported dead.
Family source said Onuigbo died in his sleep in the wee hours of Saturday, same day Nigeria is holding presidential and National Assembly elections.
Labour Party which has former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State as presidential candidate and has attracted large followership since beginning of its campaign last year
Considered one of the top four presidential hopeful, Obi is rallied by numerous supporters known as Obidients who are campaigning for a change of what they call the old order.
The late Labour Party stalwart coordinated the pre-election activities of the party till late Friday night and was said to have been eagerly awaiting the commencement of the Saturday’s polls.
His body has now been deposited in Asokoro Hospital mutuary in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
