Comfort Emmanson, an Ibom Air passenger recently released from custody, has expressed gratitude to her supporters while revealing that she is still in pain from the alleged treatment she received during her detention.
In a statement shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, Emmanson, known online as #soft_commy, said she requires rest and medical attention before she can share her full account of the events that led to her arrest.
“I’ve been released from prison, but I’m still in pains due to how I was treated. I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give out my own version of the event. Thank you so much for the prayers, love, and support. God bless you all,” her post read in part.
Heritage Times recall that the incident that led to her arrest, occurred on August 10, was captured in viral videos showing Emmanson attacking flight attendants and confronting airport security officials.
According to Ibom Air, the altercation began shortly before take-off when Emmanson refused to switch off her mobile phone as required by aviation safety regulations. A fellow passenger seated beside her reportedly switched off the phone, triggering a verbal outburst.
While the full details of the incident remain disputed, Emmanson’s latest update focuses on the physical and emotional toll of the experience.
The airline is yet to issue a response to her recent claims, although earlier statements confirmed a customer service incident had occurred and was being addressed internally. Ibom Air’s management has previously emphasised that the well-being of passengers and staff remains a top priority.
Since her release, Emmanson’s post has attracted thousands of likes and comments, with many supporters calling for an official investigation into her treatment and urging the airline to provide a clearer account of the events.
