Fans of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) globally will once again have reasons to stay at the edge when two hard fighters – Kamaru Usman and Joaquin Buckley clash in the welterweight contest at Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Tagged UFC Atlanta fight card, the event is scheduled for Sunday morning.
The Men For The Show
The Nigerian-born Usman is a former UFC welterweight champion. He is riding the first losing skid of his MMA career heading into UFC Atlanta.
Usman, who opened his MMA career with a 20-1 record, has lost his past three outings.
His first loss during that run ended his reign as UFC welterweight champion after five title defences.
The last-minute knockout loss to Leon Edwards also ended Usman’s run of 15 consecutive wins as a UFC welterweight. No UFC welterweight has as many consecutive wins as Usman.
American Fighter
For the American Buckley, he opened his UFC career as a middleweight.
He went 5-4 at 185 pounds under the UFC banner before dropping to welterweight in May 2023. Buckley scored a TKO win over Andre Fialho in that outing.
He has not lost since. Buckley brings a six-fight winning streak with him into the UFC Atlanta fight card.
Meanwhile, in the co-main event, Rose Namajunas meets Miranda Maverick at flyweight.
