Super Eagles and Glasgow Rangers defender, Calvin Bassey has made the official Europa League team of the season following an impressive performance in the final.
The 22-year-old put up a monstrous show in the final to earn a spot in the selection conducted by the UEFA’s Technical Observers panel.
His compatriot Joe Aribo who scored in the final was not included in the team as he went on to become the only African player selected for the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League Team of the Season.
Rangers produced a fine run in the competition which saw them reach the final but lost 5-4 on penalties to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt who won their first European trophy in 42 years.
