Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen, has won the Press Sports Foreign Athlete of the year 2022 award in Italy, as his exploits for Serie A side Napoli grows.
Osimhen, 24-year-old, is currently the top scorer in the Serie A with a total of 19 goals and three assists in 21 games.
He has also been nominated for the Serie A player for the month of February.
Shortly after receiving the latest award, Osimhen expressed his desire to play in the English Premier League.
“A lot of people worldwide consider the Premier League as the best and strongest league.
“Of course, I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League someday, but it’s a process and I just want to keep on this momentum,” he said.
Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020 from Lille Metropole of France.
Napoli currently enjoy a 15-point lead on the League table as they chase a first title since the days of Diego Maradona.
They have amassed 65 points after 25 matches.
The club will face Atalanta on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Coincidentally, his compatriot Lookman Ademola plies his trade with Atalanta.
