Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Friday night forced Russia to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly match decided in Moscow.
The fiercely fought battle was one in which Russia took the lead in the first half no thanks to an own goal by Nigeria’s Semi Ajayi
The Eagles fought back in the second half with Belgium based Arokodare capitalising on a defensive blunder by the hosts to slot in the equalizer in the 70th minute, after he came in the 61 minutes.
The Belgium-based goal poacher replaced goal drought Victor Boniface who plies his professional trade with Bayer Leverkusen in German Bundesliga
The encounter was one in which Super Eagles second choice keeper Maduka Okoye made a good number of impressive saves.
The result keeps the Eagles unbeaten under head coach Chelle, who has now overseen two victories over Rwanda and Ghana, a Unity Cup triumph on penalties over Jamaica, and draws against both Zimbabwe and Russia.
The Nigerian team few days ago won The Unity Cup in London after defeating Jamaica side 5-4 on penalties.
