The United States has said it is on the verge of securing near-total control of Iranian airspace as joint military operations with Israel intensify, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict with Iran.
Speaking at the White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt disclosed that American forces were making rapid progress toward establishing aerial dominance over Iran.
According to her, the United States expects to achieve “complete and total dominance” of the country’s airspace within hours if current operations continue successfully.
“We expect to have complete and total dominance over Iranian airspace in the coming hours,” Leavitt said during a briefing at the White House.
Earlier, U.S. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth also confirmed that the United States and Israel were coordinating closely in efforts to neutralize Iran’s aerial capabilities and strengthen operational control of the skies.
According to Hegseth, the objective of the joint campaign is to ensure uncontested airspace, allowing allied aircraft to operate freely while targeting key military infrastructure across Iran.
“We will have complete control of Iranian skies, uncontested airspace,” he stated, noting that air operations would continue around the clock.
He explained that the intensified air campaign is designed to dismantle Iran’s missile systems and degrade its defence industrial capacity. “That means we will fly all day, all night, day and night, finding, fixing and finishing the missiles and defense industrial base of the Iranian military,” Hegseth added.
The announcement comes as joint U.S.–Israeli strikes continue to target missile launch facilities, air defence systems, and other strategic military installations across Iran, raising concerns among global observers about the potential for a broader regional conflict in the Middle East.
