The Rector of Auchi Polytechnic, Edo state, Dr. Momodu Sanusi Jimah has been confirmed dead.
According to Mr Mustapha Oshiobugie, the polytechnic’s Public Relations Officer who fielded questions from newsmen, said Sanusi passed on Friday night at exactly 7.00 pm after a brief illness.
He was said to have been receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital but died yesterday night.
Oshiobugie, said the institution is mourning following the demise of her rector who passed away on Friday by 7.00pm after a brief illness.
“I can confirm that he is no more and his remains will be committed to mother earth by 10 am today according to Muslim rites”, Oshiobugie said.
It could be recalled that there had been initial reports of his death making the rounds on social media couple of days back which the authorities of the institution dismissed as false.
