The Supreme Court of Nigeria has reserved judgment in a suit instituted for the country’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, challenging the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the presidential election of February 25.
Atiku was the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the poll in which Tinubu of All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared winner by the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
A seven-member panel of the Supreme Court reserved judgment on Monday after parties in the appeal adopted their respective briefs of arguments.
The seven-member include John Okoro, Uwani Abba-Aji, Lawal Garba, Ibrahim Saulawa, Adamu Jauro, Tijjani Abubakar and Emmanuel Agim.
Atiku in the appeal is urging the court to nullify the victory of Tinubu in the poll over among other things alleged rigging, and forgery.
