Nigerian musician, Burna Boy has been announced as one of the headline performers at this year’s UEFA Champions League final.
This was revealed via tweet by the European football governing body on Thursday.
The final will be played on June 10 in Istanbul, Türkiye.
The tweet reads, “Big news! @burnaboy will be performing at the Champions League final in Istanbul alongside another amazing headliner!” said the UEFA statement with a teaser video of the self-acclaimed ‘African Giant’.
Burna Boy, alongside Tems and Rema, had performed at an Afrobeats-themed halftime show last month at NBA All-Star Weekend.
The global chart-topping ‘Last Last’ superstar will be bringing his signature soulful vibes of afrobeats to Istanbul’s Atatürk Olympic Stadium to the cheers of millions of fans tuning in from across the globe.
Another Nigerian music star, Davido had performed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup final in front of more than 80,000 fans at the Lusail Iconic Stadium, Qatar, as Afrobeats continue to gain global appeal.
