Victor Osimhen has written an emotional farewell message to Gennaro Gattuso who was sacked by Napoli on Sunday after just a year and half with the club.
Gattuso was relieved of his duties after Napoli failed to qualify for the Champions League on the back of a 1-1 home draw against Hella Verona on final match day.
The AC Milan legend secured the services of the Nigerian from French Ligue 1 outfit, Lille on a club record fee last summer due to his admiration for the 22-year-old style of play.
“You have been instrumental towards my development,” Osimhen wrote. “Not just as a player but also as a man,”Osimhen wrote on Instagram.
“I really appreciate all you do for me on and off the pitch, I admired you as a player and to be able to work under you and call you my BOSS is something I will never forget in a rush.
“I hold you on high esteem forever. I wish you all the very best on your new adventure BOSS.”
Napoli finished the Serie A season behind fourth place Juventus after they dropped one point to the Europa League spot.
