Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo reached a career record of 750 goals for club and country after scoring in his side’s 3 – 1 Champions League winner over Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday.
Ronaldo scored from less than a yard out to currently hold the a record of 71 goals in the Champions League, overtaking arch-rival Lionel Messi who has 70.
The Portuguese sensation is on the verge of surpassing the all-time record held by late Austrian and Czech footballer Josep Biscan who scored a staggering 759 goals during his career.
In second place on the all-time professional goal scorer’s chart is Brazilian legend, Pele with 757 goals.
With just 9 goals to equal Biscan’s record, Ronaldo stated that he is already gunning for 800 professional goals.
He wrote after the game against Dynamo Kyiv: “750 goals, 750 happy moments, 750 smiles in the faces of our supporters.
“Thank you to all the players and coaches that helped me reach this amazing number, thank you to all my loyal opponents that made me work harder and harder everyday.
“But above all, thanks to my wonderful family, always present in my best and worst moments. Next stop: 800 goals! Let’s go!”.
Also, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is seven efforts short to equal Iran’s Ali Daei 109 margin as the all time leading goal scorer for the national team.
