As champions of Belgium we were already very close a few times in the previous editions, but now that first oh so important victory is a fact and that feels really good. It cost us a lot of energy, but if you win, you will of course feel it much less.
Dennis also reflected on his goal and his desire to score.
“Yes, you all know that I like a joke, but nevertheless I am very happy that I have the ball. I was just able to poke into the net after two blocked chances by Charles. ”
Dubbed as the “Nigerian Neymar” Dennis made headlines when he bagged a brace against Real Madrid, before a stunner against Manchester United in the Europa League.
However, his compatriot, David Okereke was an unused substitute in the game.
Elsewhere, former international Odion Ighalo, was also an unused substitute as his team, Manchester United stunned their host, Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in the match day 1.
Ighalo, however, got on the news after he slammed the Nigerian government over the shooting of EndSARS peaceful protesters at the Lekki Toll gate in Lagos by military personnel. The protesters have been in the street for two weeks, demanding an end to police brutality and extra-judicial killings.
