American Actor, Alec Baldwin has accidentally killed a woman and injured a man after firing a prop gun on a film set in New Mexico.
According to reports by several US media outlet, Mr Baldwin fatally shot a Cinematographer and injured a Director on the New Mexico movie set of the film ‘Rust’.
“There was an accident today on the New Mexico set of ‘Rust’ involving the misfire of a prop gun with blanks,” a production spokesperson told Deadline.
The Western drama’s cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, was airlifted to the hospital but died of her injuries.
The movie director, Joel Souza, is being treated at Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe, authorities said.
“Detectives are investigating how and what type of projectile was discharged,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
A spokesperson for Mr Baldwin told AP news agency that the incident involved the misfiring of a prop gun with blanks.
