Tens of thousands of social media users have reported suddenly being logged out of their Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Around 3pm on Tuesday, reports flooded in regarding outages affecting Meta services, as observed on the online monitoring platform Down Detector.
While the social media apps and websites were functional earlier in the day, issues emerged in the afternoon, preventing users from logging back into their accounts.

Reports of outages have come from across the UK.
As of 3.20pm, there had been more than 90,000 reports associated with Facebook and 23,000 relating to Instagram.
