The Police Council meeting, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, has confirmed Usman Baba as inspector-general of police.
This disclosure was made by the Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, on Friday, June 4, 2021, while briefing state house correspondents at the end of the meeting saying that the appointment of Usman Baba was unanimously confirmed.
According to him, Baba was unanimously confirmed by those who participated in the meeting.
He also noted that Buhari directed the Police Boss to ensure insecurity is brought to the barest minimum.
It would be recalled that President Buhari on April 6, appointed Usman Baba as acting police boss.
Until his recent appointment, Baba was a deputy inspector-general of police before his promotion.
