A popular American rapper, Calvin Broadus, mostly known as Snoop Dogg, has reportedly ventured into football administration.
Consequently, the music icon has been unveiled as a co-owner of English Championship club Swansea City.

This was revealed by the club in a statement via its website.
In the statement, Snoop Dogg was quoted as saying, “My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City.
“The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working-class city and club — an underdog that bites back, just like me. I’m proud to be part of Swansea City.”
Global Effect
With over 100 million followers across social media platforms, Snoop Dogg is expected to bring worldwide attention to the club.
Swansea’s owners say his global influence will play a key role in expanding the club’s profile and attracting commercial opportunities.
“To borrow a phrase from Snoop’s back catalogue, this is the ‘next episode’ for Swansea City,” the club’s statement read.
“Snoop’s passion for football is real, and his involvement will support our efforts to build a competitive team and grow our fanbase.”
A Footstep Of Celebrities
The move follows a growing trend of celebrity involvement in football. Welsh rivals Wrexham have experienced a dramatic rise since being purchased by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2020, earning promotion to the Championship.
Swansea will now be hoping that their own star-studded partnership can inspire a similar resurgence.
Modric Connection
The 53-year-old music star becomes part of the club’s ownership group alongside Croatian football great Luka Modrić, who recently purchased a stake in the Welsh side after leaving Real Madrid for AC Milan.
The rapper’s involvement comes months after American investors Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen took control of Swansea in November 2024.
The club’s leadership is now focused on increasing revenue and global reach, aiming for a return to the Premier League after relegation in 2018.
