President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, on Saturday hosted the President and Board Chair of Afreximbank, Dr. George Elombi, at the Bank Group’s headquarters in Abidjan, where both leaders committed to strengthening institutional cooperation to fast-track Africa’s integration agenda.
During the high-level engagement, the two presidents reviewed ongoing areas of partnership and explored new opportunities to consolidate the relationship between the AfDB Group and Afreximbank. Their discussions centred on enhancing collaboration to boost regional trade, industrialisation and continent-wide development initiatives.
Afreximbank said the meeting reaffirmed its commitment to “strategic partnerships that strengthen trade, industrialisation and sustainable growth across Africa”. It recalled Dr. Elombi’s position during his investiture that Africa accelerates when its institutions work together rather than in isolation.
With Dr. Ould Tah’s leadership and his long-standing relationship with Afreximbank, both institutions expressed confidence that the renewed drive for cooperation will yield scalable, cross-border solutions capable of advancing Africa’s economic transformation.
