The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, has stressed that it will not compromise standards in its bid to develop local capacity for effective and efficient service delivery.
Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Wabote, gave this firm verdict while commissioning the Ultra-Modern Catering Facility (The Promise Fast-Food and Restaurant) in Bonny Island, Rivers State.
Speaking at the commissioning of the facility built by Integrated Catering Company Ltd, Engr. Simbi noted that the completion of the facility tallies with its “10-year strategic roadmap aimed at increasing the level of Nigerian Content in the oil and gas sector to 70% by 2027”.
While commending the CEO of the company, Pst. Oluwatoyin Alabi for his contribution to the growth of the Nigerian Content, he noted that Quick-Service Restaurants, QSRs, generated about N200bn revenue in 2018 and employed more than 500,000 workers.
“The size is currently estimated at N300bn with an annual growth rate of about 12%,” Simbi added.
“The Board is proud to identify with Integrated Catering Company Ltd for the establishment of this exceptional catering facility to provide high quality meals that give its customers and clients an unforgettable experience that always spur a repeat patronage.
“One of the key mandates of the Board is to develop the capacity of local supply chain for effective & efficient service delivery without compromising standards increasing the level of Nigerian Content in the oil and gas sector to 70% by 2027.
“You have taken the initiative to invest in a pro-active manner which we always appreciate within NCDMB as it gives us the leverage to insist on patronage of local businesses as we perform our regulatory roles,” he added.
Engr. Simbi further reiterated the Board’s interest in providing support for in-country oil and gas service providers, which he said is “not limited to fabrication, rigs, pipes and vessels but also to other linkage sectors such as catering services”.
