A suspected government paid activist, Kenechukwu Okeke has come under fire for suing no fewer than 50 #EndSARS campaigners before a Chief Magistrate’s court in Abuja.

Mr Okeke wants the defendants who promoted #EndSARS protests to be brought to justice, stressing that the agitations led to the destruction of his property.

The defenders in the suit include Senior Pastor, Daystar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, journalist, Kiki Mordi, ex-Super Eagles legend, Kanu Nwankwo; a former Director-General, Bureau for Public Sector Reform, Dr Joe Abah; activist, Aisha Yesufu, and actors, Yul Edochie and Uche Jombo.

Musicians Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz; David Adeleke popularly known as Davido and social media comedians, Debo Adebayo aka Mr Macaroni, and Maryam Akpaokagi aka Taoma were also sued.

Other sued musicians include Innocent Idibia aka Tuface, Peter and Paul Okoye, Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W, Michael Ajereh aka Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade.

The development has generated heat as some of the defendants dragged Mr Okeke on Twitter for filing a “frivolous” suit.

“Who sent this guy to file this frivolous lawsuit?” Sam Adeyemi tweeted.

Who sent this guy to file this frivolous law suit?

Also reacting, legal practitioner, Ayo Sogunro, wondered why he was not properly named in the lawsuit.

If you're going to name me in a court process, do it properly. My full name is Ayodele Olorunfunmi Sogunro. https://t.co/btwIMugp2X

— Ayo Sogunro (@ayosogunro) November 10, 2020

On his part, Dr. Chinonso Egemba, popularly known as Aproko Doctor, rubbished Okeke’s lawsuit.

Kenechukwu Okeke, you're a clown. You're a stooge and a disgrace to "Human Rights" that you so proudly proclaim as your username.

Kenechukwu, I feel nothing short of pity for you, pity because you're so blind to common sense. Blind to truth.

Once again, you're a clown. https://t.co/4bzji5ouYe

— Dr. Chinonso Egemba (@aproko_doctor) November 10, 2020

Meanwhile fiery Human Rights Advocate, Mr. Deji Adeyanju of the ‘Concerned Nigeria’ advocacy has written a petition against Mr. Anthony Kenechukwu Okeke, to the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) on allegations of professional misconduct.

Adeyanju in the petition alleged that Mr. Okeke acted unprofessionally by filing the criminal complaint.

The Human Rights Advocate who based his petition on Rules 1, 39(2), 47(1), 55 of the Rules of Professional Conduct, which borders on unbecoming actions of Legal Practitioners, Advertisement, Frivolous litigation, and punishment respectively; is asking the LPDC to investigate the issue in question and recommend Mr. Okeke for prosecution for unethical behaviour.
