Former Super Eagles star, Sunday Oliseh, has resigned as Coach of German football club- SV Straelen after losing five consecutive league games in the current season.
Oliseh who had coached Nigeria’s Super Eagles quit months after taking charge.
The former Fortuna Sittard Coach resigned after losing his fifth consecutive league game this season, the last coming against Fortuna Düsseldorf II 2-0 last weekend.
The 47-year-old according to SV Straelen’s official website, informed President Hermann Tecklenburg, who is currently in Mallorca, about his resignation by telephone.
The club Sporting Director, Kevin Wolze announced this when the team gathered for training.
“Sunday obviously had the feeling that the team could no longer be reached. We have to accept this decision. It doesn’t make sense to try to persuade him to continue.
“In the next few days, we will be receiving several applications. The players and I focus on the sporting side. After the cup game, the top favourite Preussen Munster comes to us. We don’t have the opportunity to worry about other things,” Wolze said.
The Olympic gold medalist had previous stints with Verviers FC and RCS VISE of the Belgian third Division, the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Fortuna Sittard and had been without a coaching job for four years before he joined SV Straelen.
