An undisclosed number of persons have been reported dead following a fire incident at a building located in Adeola Odeku in Victoria Island, Lagos State.

DRC: Worshippers Taking Part In Vigil Killed By Suspected Islamists

The Cable report indicates that the fire was caused by a generator explosion which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.

An eyewitness account says a car with three passengers, parked near the building where the explosion occurred was gutted by fire, affecting other vehicles and buildings around the premises.

Nosa Okunbor, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), while confirming the incident, noted that officials of the agency are already at the scene of to forestall further damages.

He said the agency is monitoring the situation, adding that emergency teams are working to put out the inferno.
