A Nigerian coach Adeyemi Anthony has been appointed Head Coach of Switzerland third division club, FC Witikon.
The former Nigerian Stationery Stores star is one of the few Nigerian coaches who exhibited great deal of fortunes playing in Europe and now coaching away from Africa.
Adedeji recently quit another Swiss club, FC Gossau on mutual consent.
After leaving his former club, the UEFA B trainer could not hide his joy, saying it was an upward direction in his coaching career.
“When many African coaches are struggling to seal new deals in European leagues, it’s a different story for me and I give God all the glory,” he said.
He had coaching stints with FC Dubendorf and FC Kloten Frauen.
The 37-year-old once represented Nigeria at the U-17 and U-2O level.
He won the 1998 FA Cup with Wikki Tourists of Bauchi.
A number of former Nigerian internationals, including Sunday Oliseh and Ndubuisi Egbo, have managed clubs in Europe in the past.
Heritage Times HT had reported recently that a former African football star Kolo Toure of Ivory coast landed top coaching job in England, a feat that was never attained by any other from the continent.
