The team under Coach Pape Thiaw has been in camp in the past few weeks ahead of the competition.

Heritage Times HT reports that the coach finally announced his final list as they are set to depart for the North African country this week.

After rounds of qualifiers, 18 countries including the West African team picked the qualification ticket for the biennial tournament.

Ivory Coast are placed in a tough group alongside DR Congo, Senegal and Uganda.

Meanwhile, Mozambique team have landed in Algiers, the capital of Algeria and emerged as the first team to arrive in North Africa for the competition.

They departed their country’s capital Maputo after staying in closed camping.

Mozambique will be hoping to create upset in the tournament in group A alongside the host country Algeria.

Others in the group include Ethiopia and former champions Libya.

The tournament will kick-off January 13 and end February 4.

CHAN is a continental competition meant for players playing within countries of their origin.
