Ahead of the anticipated intense Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Leone stars of Sierra Leone, Nigeria’s Super Eagles will jet off to Monrovia, Liberia’s capital for the clash.
The Nigerian team opened camp on Monday in Lagos and have been training for the crucial encounter scheduled for Sunday June 18, 2028.
According to the team’s official itinerary, obtained by Heritage Times HT, they will depart Nigeria via a charted flight from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja Lagos.
Crucial Tie
The Nigerian side coached by Portuguese Jose Peseiro will be gunning for victory especially after they lost control of their group, now led by Guinea Bissau with one point.
The expected victory could only position them to grab a qualification for 2023 AFCON in Cote d’ivoire in January.
Guinea pressure, Egypt AFCON Place
Guinea Bissau shot to the group summit after 1-0 away win against Sao Tome and Principe on Wednesday.
Elsewhere, Egypt beat Guinea Conakry 2-1 to guarantee themselves of a place at the 34th edition of the biennial competition scheduled between January 13 and February 11, 2024.
