Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba on Monday met with the leadership of Equatorial Guinea parliament where both countries agreed to develop legislative ties.
Kuleba who is on his third tour to Africa, first touched down in Malabo where he met with the President of the House of Deputies Gaudencio Mohaba Mesu and Senate President of the Parliament Teresa Efua Asangono.
“While in Malabo, I met with the President of the House of Deputies Gaudencio Mohaba Mesu and Senate President of the Parliament Teresa Efua Asangono. I thanked them for solidarity with Ukraine. We agreed to develop ties between the parliaments of Ukraine and Equatorial Guinea,” Kuleba tweeted.
The working visit comes days after Russia pulled out from Russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative which allows Ukraine to ship grains to Africa and other parts of the world.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine had earlier noted that Kuleba will hold talks with the leadership of Equatorial Guinea on the development of bilateral relations, increasing the volume of trade, ensuring food security in Africa and supporting President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Peace Formula.
The first African tour of the head of the MFA of Ukraine took place in October 2022 when he visited Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Kenya.
The second which took place in May 2023 saw him visit Morocco, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Mozambique and Nigeria.
