England late Wednesday night overcame hard-fighting Netherlands 2-1 to set-up final cracker against Spain in the ongoing 2024 European Championship.
The final match is slated for Sunday in Berlin, Germany.
Copa America Grand Finale
Same day, Columbia will battle defending champions Argentina in the final of the 2024 Copa America at Miami Gardens, Florida.
This is after Columbia edged Uruguay 1-0 in the semi-final of the tournament.
Argentina had defeated Canada 2-0 while Spain beat France 2-1 in the earlier semi-final berth.
The Albiceleste are seeking a record 16th Copa title and are looking to join Spain from 2008-12 as the only countries to win three straight major championships.
Uruguay stays in Charlotte to meet Canada in Saturday night’s third-place match.
Euro Final Battle
Though, the star-studded England have scratched their way through to final, it will be their second consecutive European Championship final as they dream of finally winning their first major trophy since 1966.
The Netherlands had hope of repeating their triumph at the last Euros held in Germany, in 1988, but were cut short by the English side that seemed more tactical.
A victory for them would have seen the Euros conclude with the same final as the 2010 World Cup.
England had got to the semis despite not winning any of their last four matches in 90 minutes, and having been taken to extra time by Slovakia and Switzerland.
