There are indications that Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has concluded arrangements to lead Brazil’s men’s football team.
According to The Athletic, everything is set with the Brazilian Football Federation for the Italian to take on his role on 26 May 2025.
Reports revealed Ancelotti will leave Real Madrid after his last La Liga match of the season against Real Sociedad.
He will then sign a contract with the Verdeamarela until the end of the 2026 World Cup.
Carlo’s Path Amidst Real’s Nosedive
The Italian still had around 13 months left on his deal at the Bernabéu, penned approaching the turn of 2024, but he was expected to either be dismissed or resign at the conclusion of the current term, which has seen Madrid’s bitter rivals FC Barcelona exert newfound domestic dominance.
Ancelotti sealed record-extending La Liga and Champions League titles in 2023/2024 for Madrid, but he has been unable to replicate such success despite the high-profile arrival of Kylian Mbappé.
Mbappé’s move to the Spanish capital on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain saw Los Blancos tipped to mount a dynasty, but they have struggled, managing only the UEFA Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup.
Madrid have lost four consecutive Clásicos to Barça, including the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey finals, with the latest defeat on Sunday by a 4–3 margin in Montjuïc most probably handing the Catalans the La Liga crown thanks to a seven-point margin with three games to spare.
Already, Real Madrid are moving to finalise the last details with Xabi Alonso, who will formally leave Bayer Leverkusen as the season ends.
