World record holder Tobi Amusan is now highest ranked female athlete in Nigeria.
This was disclosed after World Athletics latest ranking points.
With a score of 1,366 points, Amusan now ranks 88th in the World Athletics women’s overall standings—overtaking Favour Ofili, who has dropped to 175th.
Amusan’s return to top-tier performance follows impressive runs, including a season-best 12.24 seconds at the Paris Diamond League.
She also delivered consistent times of 12.45 seconds, helping her climb back into the top 10 of the 100m hurdles rankings, where she currently stands at No. 9.
This resurgence marks a significant comeback for Amusan, who had slipped out of the top 100 in 2024.
Her recent results show she’s back among the global elite, just in time for major competitions ahead of the Paris Olympics.
