Reports from Switzerland indicates that Wales women players on Tuesday escaped unhurt after their team was involved in an accident on the way to their training session at Arena St Gallen.
The training was ahead of their match against France in the tournament.
According to the Football Association of Wales (FAW), in a statement, all players and staff who were on the bus were uninjured, though an ambulance was at the scene attending to the driver of another vehicle.
Part of the statement reads, “The Football Association of Wales can confirm that the Cymru national team bus has been involved in a road traffic accident whilst travelling to Arena St Gallen for their matchday -1 training session ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 match against France.”
The Wales training session scheduled to be held at the stadium has been cancelled as a result of the accident, though Wilkinson’s squad may train later in the day at their team base in Weinfelden, around 30 minutes from St Gallen.
Head coach Rhian Wilkinson and captain Angharad James were not on the bus as they travelled separately in order to attend Wales’ press conference prior to Wednesday’s Group D game.
The competition, which kicked off July 2, is expected to climax July 27, 2025.
