According to the officials of Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), D’Tigers defeated some of the best ranked  basketball teams in the world including China, USA and Serbia, amongst other countries that participated at the tournament.

The Federation said the Nigeria national basketball team played exciting games with lots of grit, passion, determination and uncommon fervour during their matches.

The China autumn tour was an all-expense trip paid by the organisers.

On why Nigeria took part in the global competition, the NBBF said the Federation took advantage of the opportunity to further expose the home based players to the international stage, as well as, boost their confidence level.

Nigeria’s participation happened after the country’s basketball men team failed to qualify for the World Cup and 2024 Olympics Games.

Recently, Nigeria’s men basketball team’s performance has nosedived amidst bickering within the NBBF.
