The governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Friday, released the names of police officers facing prosecution in the state.

Sanwo-Olu who has come under serious attack from the EndSARS protesters in Lagos, following the Lekki massacre on the night of Tuesday, reiterated his commitment to halt the excesses of the police.

The Lekki attack which left no fewer than 11 persons killed, has led to global outrage as international communities have called on the Nigerian government to commence prompt investigation into the shootings.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed the list via his twitter account;

“Today seems like a good day to get on to the work of rebuilding Lagos and ending police brutality. To show our commitment to the latter, here is a list of ongoing prosecution of police officers for offences related to the violation of human rights in Lagos.”
