There are indications that Manchester United’s in-form forward, Amad Diallo, will be out of action for the remainder of the season.

He suffered a ligament damage, according to reports on Saturday.

Diallo is believed to have sustained the injury in training, with United yet to confirm the extent of the damage as the 22-year-old awaits further tests, AFP reports.

The Ivory Coast international has been one of United’s most dynamic performers in what has been a difficult campaign for the troubled Premier League club, netting crucial goals against Manchester City and Liverpool.

Diallo has scored six times in his last 14 games in all competitions, and his prolonged absence would be a massive blow to United manager Ruben Amorim.

Arsenal Close-up on Liverpool

In the Premier League matches played so far this weekend, Arsenal compounded Leicester’s woes with a 2-0 win.

The victory takes Arsenal up to 53 points, four behind leaders Liverpool, who welcome Wolves to Anfield on Sunday.

City’s Rampant Win

Meanwhile, Manchester City thrashed Newcastle 4-0, firing Pep Guardiola’s men back into the Premier League’s top four.

The victory means City have recovered from their late Champions League defeat at home to Real Madrid in midweek.

The English champions face a tough challenge when they visit Madrid on Wednesday, needing a strong performance to reach the last 16 of Europe’s elite competition for the 12th consecutive season.

Chelsea’s Further Slump

The weekend started badly for Chelsea, as Brighton secured a 3-0 triumph against the Blues.

Enzo Maresca’s side delivered one of their worst performances of the season in their second defeat in the space of seven days at the Amex Stadium.

Chelsea’s third defeat in their last four games across all competitions is another setback to their hopes of finishing in the top four.
