Grammys 2021: Nigerians Congratulate Burna Boy, Wizkid Over Win

Compatriots can't help celebrating the two stars who have made Nigeria a nation to reckon with in the music world.

Twitter is still buzzing with Congratulatory tweets for two Nigerian superstars, Burna Boy and Wizkid who made history at the 63rd Grammy Awards ceremony.

Burna Boy took his throne as the African Giant as he bagged the prestigious award in the category for the Best Global Music Album category for his album Twice As Tall.

On his part, Wizkid won his first-ever Grammy Award for his collaboration with Beyonce in the song‘Brown Skin Girl’ off the 2019 album, ‘The Lion King’.

It is interesting to note that while the Grammys is trending at number one on Twitter, Burna Boy’s albums, Twice As Tall and African Giant, is trending on number two and three, respectively, on the social media platform, while Starboy, a pseudonym for Wizkid, is trending at number four.

Popular Nigerian singer, 9ice, took to his Instagram account to congratulate Wizkid, as he wrote, “Congrats Wizman!!! @wizkidayo.”

Sending her congratulations to Wizkid, Nigerian activist, Rinu, took to her verified Twitter account saying, “Starboy, we call you number one! Wizzy baby! Machala of Africa. My President on #GRAMMYs.”

Popular disc jockey, DJ Switch, congratulated both Burna Boy and Wizkid in a tweet, saying, “Congratulations to Baba NLA @wizkidayo & the African Giant @burnaboy. Very well deserved! We are all so happy, thank you! #GRAMMYs.”

Funnyman, Mr Macaroni, while tweeting a line from Burna Boy’s hit song, Wonderful, congratulated the singer on his win as he wrote on his verified Twitter account, “I go show you wonder waa ri wonderful… You no go believe wetin won happen!! African Giant don show us Wonder!! Crown.”

Legendary Nigerian singer, Femi Kuti, took to his verified Twitter account to congratulate Burna Boy on his win. He simply wrote, “Congratulations @burnaboy.”

Former Senator, Ben Bruce, wrote, “Congratulations to Burna Boy on bringing the Grammys. Proudly Nigerian @burnaboy

Sonorous singer Seyi Shay also sent her congratulatory message to the African Giant stating, “@burnaboy KILLIN DEM!!! Congratulations darling #GRAMMYs #bestgobalmusicalbum #TWICEASTALL.”

The singer’s lover, Stefflondon, also took to her Instastory to celebrate the Wonderful singer. Sharing a picture of Burna Boy, she wrote, “Issa Grammy Boy.”

She further posted a picture that showed the ecstatic singer when announced as the winner as well as another picture of both of them.
