The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC has dismissed the reported increase in Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, insisting that the ex-depot price of the commodity will not be increased in March.

This was disclosed by the corporation on its Twitter handle on Friday in reaction to the purported N212 per litre increase.

The NNPC in a tweet assured Nigerians that there won’t be any increase in the price of petrol in March.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has taken down a link holding the new prices of petrol.

Recall that the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA on Thursday night posted its new template indicating an increase in the pump price of petrol from N186 to N212 per litre, which was accessible @: http://pppra.gov.ng/pms-guiding-price-for-march-2021/.

The decision to take the link down may not be unconnected to the nationwide uproar that has followed the news.
