WORRIED by the rising spate of killings for ritual among young Nigerians, the House of Representatives on Wednesday called on the President Muhammadu-led Government to declare a national emergency on ritual killings across the country.
This formed part of the resolutions reached by the lawmakers on a motion of urgent public importance titled ‘Need to Curb the Rising Trend of Ritual Killings in Nigeria’.
Ritual killing has recently become a trend across the country.
Videos clips of such activities involving adults and teenagers have flooded the Nigerian social media space in recent times.
The most guilty of the trending crime, are known as ‘yahoo boys’, who engage in internet fraud aided by diabolic rituals.
