The much anticipated season 5 of Money Heist finally dropped on Friday, taking Nigerian Twitter by storm.
Money Heist is a Spanish series that has amassed a global audience for its unique plot about a criminal mastermind who goes by the name professor, who recruits criminals with abilities to pull off the biggest and seemingly most impossible heists in history.
Part 5 of this acclaimed series shocked Nigerians due to the infusion and mention of the Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram in certain scenes and episodes.
It is not the first time that the series had tried to court attention of Africa’s most populous country, as the maiden season’s opening montage displayed the N100 note alongside other currencies.
However, the mention of Boko Haram in the new season was a plot that effectively drew the attention of Nigerians.
