The Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai has debunked reports by an online medium which alleged the prohibition of mobile phones and wearing of sunglasses in the Kuriga village of Chikun local government area of the state.
El-Rufai in a tweet to the medium described the report as untrue, noting that the state does not have religious police popularly known as Hisbah.
He therefore advised the medium to desist from sensationalising issues of criminal behaviour by using photos sourced from different geographical locations to push what he described as a false story.
He also called for accurate reportage in line with international best practices to ensure that people don’t get misinformed.
