Terem Moffi scored a hat-trick as Lorient thumped Girondis Bordeaux 4-1 in their Ligue 1 clash at the Stade Yves Allainmat – Le Moustoir on Sunday afternoon.
In-form moffi scored twice in the first half before adding his third in the second stanza of the encounter.
The Nigeria international was later replaced six minutes left to play.
Moffi, who recorded his first hat-trick in Ligue 1, has scored 14 goals in 28 league appearances this season.
While in Spain, Samuel Chukwueze scored but it was not enough to prevent his Villarreal side from losing 2-1 at home to Barcelona.
It was Chukwueze’s fourth goal in 27 games in Laliga so far this season.
He broke the deadlock in the 26th minute following an assist from Pau Torres.
Antoine Griezmann scored twice in the 28th and 35th minute to cancel the Nigerian goal.
Villarreal were reduced to 10 men after Manu Tigueros was shown a straight red card for a late tackle on Lionel Messi.
Villarreal are yet to beat Barcelona in their last 24 league meetings (Draw six defeats 18), their worst run ever against any opponent in the Laliga.
