Amid the ongoing nationwide protest calling for a reform of the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Government has announced the re-opening of National of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camps across the country.
The announcement was made known by the Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare via his twitter handle on Thursday.
Dare who has backed the EndSARS protest specifically demonstrated by Nigerian youths, noted that the NYSC camps will resume orientation exercise on the 10th of November, 2020.
Dare said, “The resumption of the NYSC Orientation Camp for prospective Youth Corps members has been approved and open on November 10th, 2020.
“Full COVID-19 Protocols will also be enforced,” he said.

Thus, this announcement would be making its way into a period the country is looking out for a way to manage the ongoing EndSARS protest against police brutality, harassment and intimidation; staged by the youths.
However, most Nigerian youths have scoffed at the government’s move to announce the commencement of the exercise; citing it as a move to reduce protesters on the street.
The protests have continued into the Eighth day, across the country with several reports making the rounds that it is gradually eluding a supposed peaceful campaign.
